Hackers extorting Apple for $75,000 in an exchange for 300 million iCloud accounts [Updated]

Earlier today a group goes by the name “Turkish Crime Family” tried to extort apple for $75,000 in an exchange for 300 million icloud accounts.

The hackers who claim to have 300 million icloud accounts are rather flexible in the method of payment, they have suggested to get paid through Bitcoins or Ethereum both are syber currencies and are hard to trace.

And For some reason Apple couldn’t pay them with the previously mentioned currencies and the hackers suggested to get paid through itunes gift cards but raised the amount to $100,000.

The hackers provided apple with a proof of the 300 million accounts to Apple’s security team to insure that the threat is real.
